He has starred in the Summeri television program 2012 to 2015 and also in the TV series Uusi Päivä from October 2013 to November 2015.
His career started with appearances in Mcdonalds and Jenkki chewing gum commercials, drama series and theatre.
In the year 2012, he got his breakthrough as a host in Yleisradio broadcasting channels Summeri series, which has now been running on tv for over 20 years.
This sprung him into various projects in television and more appearances nationally in events making him a household name as an African descended entertainer. He got a lot of thanks from the African community in Finland for paving the way to others in the industry and showing the younger generation that everything is possible if you put your mind to it! He started giving back by creating his projects to help out others with the same background to succeed in music, arts, and business. In 2017 he was invited to join FILN ( Finnish Inclusion Leaders Network), wich core agenda is to create an innovative network of young diverse elected leaders, with select civil society and business leaders who collaborate, peer mentor and educate each other in the work of advancing inclusive policies and increasing social cohesion. Now he works actively as an entrepreneur and focuses on producing business events and coaching new Afrofinn minds to achieve in Finland.
Obi-West Utchaychukwu is a Nigerian from the Igbo extraction. He was born and raised up in Benin city, Edo state, Nigeria. He studied business administration in the university and he also has a certificate in French language. He moved to Finland six years ago and he has been able to carve out a niche for himself in the field of journalism due to his penchant for literally excellence. While in Nigeria, he had a stint with a media firm and he has written several interesting articles which borders on governance, travel, health and religion. Most of his articles were published by major media houses in Nigeria. He is the CEO of Diaspora Reporters, an online media agency that was established last year with the mandate of keeping online readers abreast with the latest news around the world. He is also the publisher and editor in chief of Diaspora Glitz Magazine, an inspiring high-end hard copy celebrity, lifestyle, people and event magazine. The magazine’s niche is the diaspora community of Finland. The quarterly magazine was launched early this year and since then it has strived to present highly-focused issues affecting foreigners in Finland and Europe at large. The magazine is fast becoming a platform where people from minority background could express their views. The magazine has maintained consistency, focus, and enviable print quality and content which has made it a sought after magazine. The vision of the magazine is to become Europe’s No1 afro magazine.
